Helping you learn more about concrete restoration
and
concrete repair.
It is often said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
This is especially true with garage floors. The floor of a garage
largely expresses the mood of the room, and proper garage floor
protection and care can turn it from “the dungeon” of the house, to a
more friendly room that can be either a useful and efficient workspace,
or even a room for the family to come to have fun.
There are a number of ways to protect your floor and keep it looking
it’s best, in order to improve the mood of the room. A very common way
is to simply put down a sealant. Something that will seal your surface
away from moisture. Now why is sealing away from moisture so important?
What damage can water really do? The truth is, water is only one of the
dangers to your floor. If you use your floor as a workspace, who knows
what type of materials you’ll be using in there? Acidic chemicals,
maybe, or paint thinner? Any of these chemicals can be absorbed into the
tiny pours in your garage floor and require a lengthy and difficult
cleaning process, which in the end, may be futile anyhow.
Another common protection is a vinyl mat. The advantage to these is that
they are quick, and very convenient. You can order them with an
approximate size, rounded up, and then, minutes later, when it’s laid
down and ready to be fitted tightly in, simply cut to an EXACT fit.
These types of mats come in a plethora of different colors and styles
that can really liven up your room.
