Helping you learn more about concrete restoration and concrete repair.

A driveway is one of the first things that come to mind when most people think of concrete surfaces. It is one of the most visible parts of most houses, and often one of the dirtiest. Regular cleaning, a good sealant, and the occasional maintenance when necessary will solve the problem, of course, but it’s much easier, and less costly then you might think.

Applying kitty litter to oil stains, treating rust stains with store bought cleansers, and occasionally renting a power cleaner is pretty much all there is to keeping your driveway surface so clean it almost shines. You can accomplish many of these methods of protection and cleaning in your free time, taking an afternoon, and a little work.

One of the best ways to keep your surface clean is to apply a coating or a sealant. These will protect your concrete from oil spills, in that the oil will not penetrate into the concrete surface, and therefore will not leave a lasting stain. It will also protect against water seeping in, freezing, and creating cracks and pits. Of course, you should be wary of what kind of sealant you use, as they may be hazardous if you have animals. Read warning labels and pay attention to safety procedures, though, and you should be fine (and well protected.)
